Soar Valley Committee Annual Reports

Chairmans Report

So another season has gone by.
We have had a great time again with only one show and one dressage evening being cancelled due to the weather.
The showing rings have been very busy in most classes and we’ve had the pleasure of watching some outstanding riding and handling.
The Showjumping has also done really well, hear the ladies in the box love watching you all and your antics over the season, they had a really hard job picking most improved as you were all fabulous!
The Dressage has been fabulous this season. Outstanding riding and smiley faces. STARS CHAMPIONSHIP has classes for dressage in 2020 so hopefully many of you will qualify.
The working Hunter ring is the only ring that hasn’t lived up to our expectations, very few horses which is disappointing given our big ring and different fences. We do get a few children but still not as many as we would like. We will be discussing what happens in this ring at our first meeting of the year.
I went to watch and support most of the classes we had members in, and I was blown away by you all! Your turnout and dedication was brilliant. Every one of you came home with an award! We the committee are so very proud of all of you. For some of you it was the first big show you’ve done and understandably quite nervous But it didn’t show! You were all fabulous and I got quite tearful watching our little fledglings go out and strut their stuff. I hope you and many other members will be competing to qualify in the 2020 season.
Sadly we have lost a committee member this season as Deb felt she had too much on with ponies and her daughter, we wish her well and hope to see her at some shows.
So to next season our 45th season, we hope to see you all refreshed after the winter and ready to give it your all.
Don’t forget reduced membership until the end of February
See you very soon

Secretary's Report

January 2020

2020 seems to have arrived from nowhere and the 2019 season seems a long time ago now!  We had an excellent response to the Early Bird offer last year and most of our members joined before the end of the offer period.

Sadly once again, many membership packs were not collected, even by those attending shows! Please remember that you will need to at least pick up your membership pack whenever possible.  With the best will in the world, the club cannot afford to post everyone’s packs to them, postage is so prohibitive.

If you do not show your membership card each time you enter a class you could be charged non-member prices.  Not all committee members know each one of you by sight!

May I also remind everyone that for the club to comply with the law, members need to complete the Data Protection Consent form which is on the reverse of the membership form.  Thanks.

Once again, please abide by the parking notices and do not park in the judges/committee reserved parking area, there is a vast parking area for you to use.   If you have a specific parking problem, speak to one of the committee and we will see what arrangements can be made to make things easier.

If you have any membership queries, please don’t hesitate to get in touch either by phone or email.

Hope you all have a  wonderful 2020 season!
