Soar Valley Committee Annual Reports

Chairmans/secretaries Report

January 2023

Dear Member

2022 has been and gone and we had an ok season. Some shows were well supported and others not. I hope this is more to do with the economic issues rather than the club.

We had 3 break ins during the season which is so demoralising for us all, but we fought back and carried on, the sound systems took the brunt of it and unfortunately  is the most expensive to replace.

We try to give you the classes you want and endeavour to make your day a happy one and we see so many smiling faces that we think we are doing a good job.

The Showing ring again was busy at most shows with some superb equines, handlers and riders that continue to improve show by show. It gives us so much pleasure to watch you all.

The Jumping ring was busy too and we can only apologise for the lack of sound, our competitors made up for this by giving us a great show of skill and of course the odd comedy moment.

The Games ring was back after many years and went really well, we had lots of cheering and giggling going on that really was a joy to hear.  Thanks to Katie for her time and commitment

The Working Hunter ring was the most poorly attended this season the entries have really slowed down and it remains to be seen if we will continue to run it in the same format.  Judge’s still have to be paid however many compete and with rosettes as well we cannot continue to carry it if it can’t support itself. This will be discussed at our first meeting in 2023.

The Clear round ring continues to be quite busy and Gina does all she can to make sure people get round as safely as possible.

The Novelty Classes started very well but then entries pretty much stopped so again discussions will be made as to whether they continue at every show.

The 2023 season is just around the corner and we will keep you posted as to dates, classes and qualifiers.

Thanks to all The Committee and our helpers, we couldn’t run without you

Happy New Year to you all and may all your dreams come true.

See you very soon

Emma
